This page explains how Toolbeel Finance builds, checks, and maintains its calculators and written content. We publish it so you can judge for yourself how much to trust a result, rather than take accuracy on faith.
Content principles
- Real usefulness over word count. Every calculator page explains what it calculates, why it matters, how it works, and what its limitations are — we do not pad pages with filler to look more "complete."
- No invented formulas. Calculators use standard, publicly documented financial formulas (for example, the standard EMI formula, compound interest formula, or the income tax slabs and rules published for a given financial year). We do not create our own approximations where an established formula exists.
- Honest about what isn't built yet. Calculators still in development are clearly labeled "Coming soon" rather than showing a fake or placeholder result.
How calculations are verified
Before a calculator is published, its logic is checked by hand-calculating several test cases and comparing the result to the underlying formula and, where relevant, publicly available rules from sources such as the Income Tax Department of India, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Calculators are not currently reviewed by a licensed chartered accountant or financial advisor — we will state clearly on this page if that changes for any specific calculator.
Financial-year updates
Tax rules are versioned by financial year in our codebase rather than hard-coded into the page. Each tax-related calculator displays the financial year its calculation is based on. When a new Union Budget changes applicable slabs, rebates, or cess, we aim to publish the update before or shortly after the new financial year begins, and we do not silently apply an outdated year's rules under a new label.
Correction process
If a reader identifies an error — in a formula, a tax figure, or written content — we investigate and, where the correction is confirmed, update the page as soon as practical. Corrections can be reported via our contact page.
Review and update cadence
Tax and interest-rate-sensitive calculators are reviewed at least once per financial year, and sooner if a relevant rule changes. Non-tax calculators (such as EMI or compound interest) are reviewed when the underlying formula, UI, or related content changes.
